Raf Simons for Dior
Well, after long long months keeping all fashionistas in suspense, it was the big news this month: officially, Galliano’s
successor will be Raf Simons, the Belgian designer. Artistic director for Jil Sander, since 2005 and for his own brand I’ve
always liked his minimalist style, he is famous for it in the fashion world.
But what is gonna happen with Dior? 4 collections a year, ready to wear plus cruise, I’m pretty afraid we are going to come
back to the genuine Dior codes, 50’s style and everything.
Yes, economically for Dior it’s a good thing during those crisis times but I regret John’s creativity, irreplaceable.
First show in July for F/W 12-13, we’ll see. For the meantime, some pics Raf Simons designs for Jil Sander 50’s style S/S12
